Jugend fotografiert is an exhibition and workshop series initiated by FOTOGALERIE Friedrichshain that gives children and young people the opportunity to present their photographs in a professional gallery and to be involved in the creation of an exhibition under the guidance of an experienced team. In 2024 – 2019 and 2022 -2025 Jugend fotografiert group exhibitions were held with numerous participants. The diverse results from their own workshops, working groups, art lessons and photography projects were shown to a broad public in cooperation with schools and youth initiatives.

Youth photography 2025

Exhibition: July 04 – August 08, 2025

For the eighth time, FOTOGALERIE Friedrichshain is presenting a selection of photo projects in collaboration with youth facilities and schools as well as individual works by young Berliners.

This year’s exhibition consists of selected photographs from the following institutions and individuals:

This year, the focus is on works by young people from Belfast in Northern Ireland – a city whose history, like Berlin’s, is shaped by walls and political division. This partnership was made possible by the Cultural Bridge program, funded by the Fonds Soziokultur.

Youth remembers – Youth photography 2023

Exhibition from June 23 to July 28 2023

For the sixth time, FOTOGALERIE Friedrichshain presents a selection of youth photographs in cooperation with youth institutions and schools. This year, the focus is on the Kulturring Berlin project SpurenWandler in the federal funding program Jugend erinnert (Youth Remembers).

Young people use photography to explore the traces of Berlin’s former division, offering insight into their perspectives on borders and the stories embedded in public spaces.

For the fifth time, FOTOGALERIE Friedrichshain is showing a selection photographic projects made by groups of young people in collaboration with Berlin schools, after a two-year break due to the pandemic. The exhibition was designed together with the young people.
